Privacy

Short version: your files never leave your device. We don't use cookies. We keep only anonymous totals of page visits.

Your files

Every tool on Sealed Tab runs inside your browser. When you pick a file, it is read and processed on your own device and the result is saved back to your device. Files are never sent to us or to anyone else, and we have no server that could receive them.

The site also tells your browser to refuse sending data anywhere except back to Sealed Tab itself (a Content Security Policy), and none of our pages make such requests while a tool runs.

How to verify this yourself

  1. Open a tool and let the page finish loading.
  2. Switch off Wi-Fi or mobile data (or open your browser's developer tools → Network tab).
  3. Use the tool. It keeps working offline, and the Network tab shows no upload of your file.

What we count

To learn which tools are useful, we count page visits and how often each tool is used, as totals only. This uses no cookies, no fingerprinting and no personal profile, and never includes your files, file names or file contents.

Hosting

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub may log technical data such as IP addresses when pages are requested; see GitHub's note on data collection. These logs only cover page requests; your files are never part of them.

No ads, no accounts

There are no ads, no trackers and no accounts on Sealed Tab.
